The 6th Hypospadias World Congress of the Hypospadias International Society (02-10-2024 until 03-10-2024, Cairo, Egypt) is accredited with 14 CME points.

The Hands-On Workshop on October 1st, 2024 has been accredited with 5 CME points.

The Live-Surgery Section on October 4th, 2024 has been accredited with 8 CME points. 

For attendance of the Pre-Congress Hands-On Workshop, the Congress and the Live-Surgery Section (October 1st – October 4th) in total 27 CME points have been accredited.

Official Language

The official language of the congress and of correspondence is English.

Internet Access

Wireless Internet access will be available at the congress venue.

Exhibition (Commercial/Non-commercial)

There will be booths available for bookstores and souvenirs, instrument and drug companies.
Further information about the HIS activities, membership and future congresses and workshops will be available at the HIS booth.

Transportation

Cairo International Airport is about 23 km from the Grand Nile Tower Hotel and Cairo city center. It takes about one hour by car, taxi or Uber (depending on the traffic and the time of the day).

It is recommended to exchange some money to Egyptian Pounds at the airport (around 100 USD), to pay the transport, as transactions in Egypt must be in local currency.

Visas

All participants will require a valid passport to enter Egypt. Please contact your nearest Egyptian Embassy or Consulate to check the visa regulations at least 3 months before the congress. If you need an invitation letter please send an email to assistant@hypospadias-society.org after registration.

Climate and Clothing
In October the weather in Cairo is generally mild (temperature may range between 30°C during the day and 19°C at night). A light coat, light sweaters and jackets are recommended for outdoor activities at night.

Local Time

The time in Cairo is 2 hours ahead of GMT.

Currency Exchange

The currency unit is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). Convertible foreign currency may be exchanged at the airport, hotels, banks and exchange bureaus at the official exchange rates. The rates are available the internet and in the daily newspapers. International credit cards are widely accepted. 

There are ATM available in most parts of Cairo to withdraw Egyptian Pounds.

Banks

Working hours for most of the banks are from Sunday to Thursday, 08:30 – 14:00. They are closed at weekends and on public holidays.

Electric Current

Electric current is 220 Volts, AC 50 cycles. Two pin round plugs are used.

Driving License

International Driving Licenses are recognized throughout Egypt. Car rental companies ask for a valid driving license.

Restaurants

For gourmets, this will be an outstanding opportunity to taste various examples of Egyptian, European, Asian and international cuisine in Cairo.

Shopping

Most shops in Cairo are generally open from 10:00 to 19:00, Monday to Sunday. Big shopping centers are open every day of the week, usually from 10:00 to 21:00. In all shopping centers major credit cards are accepted.
